Idea is partially good because the lock is only for the slipers. I suggest it should locl ked to a grill/gate.
Else,in addition to slippers you will loose the lock also.

The matter in your joke has exactly happend with me twice. Therafter I made it a practice to leave my slippers out side the temple, keep one slipper in its place and another one in a distant place,(keep them separately) which you only will know.!!!!
